Muscat, April 8th, 2008 – Oman
Post and VantagePost have signed an agreement to jointly implement a secure
e-Post system which will be available to all citizens and companies. The system
will contribute to a better way of exchanging information in Oman, a more
secure way to do business, and a major step forward in moving towards a
sustainable Post Office.
Mike Hudson, the general manager
of the Oman Post explains: “Oman is the first in the world to take this huge
but logical step. This will lead to a whole new world of possibilities and it
will change the Post Office forever”.

Muscat, October 3rd 2010 – A VantagePost delegation
recently met an Oman Post delegation, including the Oman Post Chairman, to
renegotiate some additional terms of the existing contract. The meeting took
place in an atmosphere of friendliness and co-operation. Both parties are
enthusiastic about the e-Post initiative which will revolutionise the way
business is done in Oman.
On top of the traditional mail, which will migrate to
the secure e-Post system, there is a huge opportunity to add various of
features to e-Post. Both VantagePost and Oman Post will benefit from the vast
amount of new possibilities that are opening up.
Eng. Saleh Bin Mohammed Al-Farsi, chairman of Oman
Post and Undersecretary of Housing, expressed his confidence in the joint
venture and stated that he was pleased that e-Post now has been made part of
the country wide initiative, led by the ITA (Information Technology Authority).
VantagePost Technical Director Unni Krishnan, who
will be responsible for the implementation, presented a number of ideas which
will be implemented in the second phase of the project.
e-Post is planned to go live in
2010 just after Eid al Adha, in early December.

Muscat, December 1st 2009 – After a few intensive
days of brainstorming, presentations, scenario analysis and economic planning
Oman Post and VantagePost have agreed upon the e-Post business case.
Mike Hudson, general manager of Oman Post, was
present on the last day of the strategy conference and thanked the people
involved for their efforts. “Oman Post is being very pro-active in seeking new
ways of surviving in the electronic world and even better, transforming into a
modern and sustainable Post Office. It will indeed, not look like the Post
Office we used to know”.
Wybren van Haga, CEO of VantagePost, remarked that
“it is fantastic that a big company like Oman Post is capable of making a huge
move like this. Where other big post offices fail to face the new electronic
and economic reality Oman Post moves on into the future by implementing
e-Post”.
Many of the current Oman Post clients will soon be
able to use e-Post hereby actually becoming more efficient and saving money at
the same time.
